Your Sydney Weekend Lineup: Top 5 Spots to Wine, Dine & Unwind!

Great weather this week … if you are a duck 😁

Don’t worry about the rain, we have you covered with a few things to keep you out of the elements and still smiling.

Check out item five this week if you like modern Irish music to its “core: 😉 I wouldn’t want you to miss out on tickets which are selling fast.

1. One of the best restaurants on the Peninsula - Can you guess ?

Pilu is a institution on the Northern beaches. Giovanni has brought Sardinian and regional Italian cooking to Freshwater in one of the most picture perfect beach settings.

Changing seasonally, the menu is typically Sardinian, re-interpreted using modern techniques whilst remaining true to tradition and regionality. Ranging from seafood to suckling pig, lamb and beef there are delights for all.

If you want a true Sardinian experience then choose the “Sardinian Experience” and let Giovanni and the team make all the choices for you.

Got some time on Sunday night? Pilu has a four course menu at $95 per head inclusive of a crudo to share, pasta, main and dessert. A brilliant way to close out the weekend.

Open Wednesday to Sunday, bookings can be made online or call the friendly staff at the restaurant on 02 9938 3331.

2. Named after a great global city this Pub will delight 🍻

The English did land on our shores some time ago and so naming a pub in Balmain after their capital city is probably no surprise. The London Hotel at 234 Darling Street is one of my favourites.

The sandstone, old worldly timber, greats beers on tap and robust menu really leaves little reason why you would choose another pub to while way the day. Check out the duck leg confit and a side of curry chips if you want a bit of a twist for your meal.

If you like a bit of live music served with your beer then trundle on down to The London on Sunday afternoons between 3 and 6 pm.

Open seven days a week, check out the website for opening times, updated menus and the live music roster.

3. Immerse yourself in these games on wet Sydney summer days

Last year Sea Life Sydney at Darling Harbour launched the Immersive Gamebox. As a venue for all ages to get into a little bit of fun and mischief it has been a hit.

Rating 4.9 stars on Google says it all. Jessyca nails it in he review “…We had an amazing time at Immersive Gamebox Sydney! … Highly recommend it for a unique and entertaining outing!”

Games include; Escape AI, Squid Game, Black Mirror Careers and Ghostbusters: The cursed collection.

Prices start at $20 for 30 minutes when booked online or $27 for 60 minutes. There are also ticket combos that provide great value.

4. Fancy a bit of football ⚽️ this weekend?

The round ball football is in full swing. This weekend Sydney FC play Brisbane Roar and it guaranteed to be a great game given how things panned out when they played last in November.

The game is at Allianz Stadium on Saturday evening starting at 5pm. Tickets available for a family of four start at $88, great value.

As usual, tickets can be purchased at Ticketek, get in early to get the best seats.

5. Talk about "talk on corners" - The Corrs playing ICC Sydney next month

Yes peoples they are back. After a run of sold out shows in 2023, The Corrs are back in Sydney playing at the ICC in Darling Harbour for their Talk on Corners show.

The Sydney concert is on Thursday 20th February 2025 from 7pm.

Tickets can be purchased via Ticketek from $146.50 plus booking fee.

As always I hope you have a cracking good weekend.

Cheers and beers,

Mick
