Top Outdoor Spots & Entertainment Picks – Get Out and Explore!

Another week another fifty cents 😒 but at least I have some great places for you to check out and keep yourself amused. From little Italy in the inner West to a five kilometre walk near “god’s country” in the Royal National Park. A fun week it will be.

1. If in "Little Italy" do as the locals do ☕️

OK so there is more than one place in Sydney which has a strong Italian heritage, but I believe Leichhardt is the true “little Italy” of Sydney.

The Leichhardt Municipal Café on Norton Street is a favourite amongst both locals and visitors to this interesting suburb.

My favourite is the Big Breakfast which includes; bacon, chorizo, mushrooms, tomato, chorizo, hash brown and your choice of two eggs (poached or fried is always good).

Scoring a 4.6 Google rating, the punters have spoken, it is a great café. Gio sums it up in there short review “…Great Food, Coffee and Absolutely Lovely People .. Definitely will be back .. highly recommended .. clean and great vibe as well…”

Located at 158 Norton Street, Leichardt and open seven days per week from 6:00am to 2:00pm it caters for your breakfast, brunch and lunch palate.

2. No bears in here but plenty of Australian wines and spirits 🍷

Teddy’s bar at Enmore sits atop The Warren View Hotel @ 2 Stanmore Road, Enmore.

Teddy’s drinks list displays an all-Australian wine offering, with signature cocktails shining a spotlight on local independent distilleries. The food menu is based on sharing with the chef’s signature focaccia bread being the centre of attention 🍞

Signature cocktails include; Teddy’s Spritz, May’s Spiked Soda, Barrel & Bitters, Cool Hand Cuke and the Inner West Side which range form $18 to $24.

You can book a table online or just roll in and walk upstairs. Open Wednesday to Saturday from 5:00pm to midnight.

4. A 5km walk in the Royal National Park 🏞️

The Jibbon Loop Track walk is a great way of exploring Jibbon Head and its beaches.

It is a moderately easy walk of 5 kilometres round trip which takes approximately two hours. Drive to Bundeena, or take the ferry from Cronulla to Bundeena wharf.

Starting in Bundeena, walk through the streets and then along Jibbon Beach. At the northern end of Jibbon Beach, a trail leads through the bush to an Aboriginal site where you can see engravings. Next onto the point of Jibbon Head. You will see many water views across Port Hacking along. Walk along the eastern coastline to Shelley Beach before leading you back through the bush to Jibbon Beach, and then retracing back to the township of Bundeena.

Don’t forget your hat, sunscreen and some water.

5. A sanctuary of joie de vivre, an escape from the day-to-day 🍽️

Armorica Grande Brasserie has a menu centered around a French-inspired grill. They deliver exceptional food with an special vibe, setting it apart as a unique dining destination in Sydney.

The executive chef, Jose Saulog, has developed a mouth watering menu including; caviar, oysters, spanner crab cake, mussels, prawns, various tartare, barramundi, swordfish, lobster, whiting, pork, duck, steaks, rack of lamb, chicken and Chateaubriand - yum! You really cannot go past the 300g Chateaubriand 🥩

On Mondays catch a great deal with Armorica’s “bottomless steak frites” for just $59. Now you have no excuse to check out Armorica 😃

Located at 490 Crown Street, Surry Hills and open Monday to Wednesday 4:00 to 10:00pm, Thursday to Sunday from midday to 10:00 / 11:00pm.
