Ah Thursday - 4th day of the working week š
Well the weather hasnāt turned out the best so far this week but the weekend temperature is looking OK. Spring in Sydney ā¦ somewhat difficult to predict if it will be rain or shine š
Anyway I have done the digging and have five brilliant things to keep you busy over the coming days.
1. First class dining in Glebe - book Beckett's for bistro to the max
Beckettās is a unique restaurant in Glebe. A French bistro wrapped in chic Aussie history. The underground brick and sandstone makes the dining experience all the more special.
The menus is outstanding and includes caviar, rock oysters, wagyu, tuna, octopus, escargots, duck and other seafood options.
Thursday to Saturday you will be also entertained by a pianist on the baby grand piano.
The Google reviewers give Beckettās an average 4.7 stars and Jules review nails it āā¦ A truly magnificent experience from start to finish. Exquisite food, champagne, and the service was exceptional. The setting is sexy and atmospheric. Highly recommended for special occasionsā.
The restaurant trades for dinner only, Thursday to Sunday from 5pm. Bookings essential - 02 9566 2167 or via the website
2. The Keg & Brew - 50 taps of Sydney's most eclectic beers š»
The Keg & Brew is part of the Good Beer Company ā¦. what a great name for a group šŗ
The ground floor bar alone has 31 of the hotelās 50 taps. Up top there are two levels you can book for your functions.
My favourite spot is the Roof Top bar where you can get pizza, cocktails and beers whilst watching the sports action on the massive TV.
The food menu is includes the usual pub grub and also some surprises such as the miso atlantic salmon and lemon thyme chicken.
Open 7 days from 10am with varying closing times. Check out their hours or book a table via the website
3. Catch Vaudeville Smash with Marc, Dan and Luca doing disco-funk
Vaudeville Smash are visiting from Melbourne for one show this Friday (tomorrow) at The Soda Factory on Wentworth Avenue, Surry Hills.
Vaudeville Smashās have been touring Japan, headlining the Sapporo Music Festival, performing in New York, South by Southwest (Austin, Texas), Singapore, Toronto, Spain, and Italy.
As Beat Magazine note ā¦āIāll be damned if Vaudeville Smash arenāt the most mind-blowingly refreshing live act to emerge from Melbourne since God knows when.ā
Tickets $33.42 through EventBrite
4. Smashing Good: T20 - Australia v Pakistan
Saturday 16th November, Australia line up again for the second game of T20 against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
An important game that will bring out the aggression in both sides to finish the night on top and well placed to wrap things up in the 3rd.
Tickets can be purchased from Ticketek starting at $50 per adult + booking fees.
5. When did you last take a walk š¶āāļø over the harbour bridge?
You can take an expensive climb over the ācoat hangerā or a free stroll along the Eastern side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the side with the awesome views of the CBD and Opera House š
Choose to start your journey on the Northern side at Milsons Point or the Southern end (city end) via The Rocks. A climb up the stairs of either the Northern Pylon or Southern Pylon will take you to the pedestrian walkway.
One end to the other with no stops is a leisurely 20 minutes or 30 if you stop for photos.
All the best for the weekend.
Cheers and beers,
Mick
