From Restaurants to Live Music - Your Ultimate Sydney Weekend Guide
Less than two weeks to Christmas 🎅, I hope you have your shopping for presents underway!
In this season of festivities, getting out and about before the family descend on your house is just what you need. I have assembled some great ideas and even one that you will need to get booked now despite it being at the end of the month.
1. Come as you are - Japanese style 🏯
Come hang out for some of Sydney's loudest chef collabs, bottomless weekend feeds, and happy hours that'll blow your mind at Kid Kyoto.
The team at the Kid have a 4.3 star Google rating and clearly have it all sorted out. Saturday lunch is a bottomless Izakaya set menu for $75 which can be upgraded with beer and wine for an extra $10. Tuesday express “Trust Us” menu for $55. Happy hour Monday to Saturday 3 to 6pm.
If you haven’t yet organised your NYE then book at the Kid for their NYE set menu and drinks at $150 per person - book online via the website
2. Feeling naughty at the Courty? Yeah!
You have to be naughty at the “Courty” - The Courthouse Hotel in Newtown 🍻
Having started trading in 1859 and celebrated as Newtown’s most loved beer garden, The Courty is a local fvourite for those lucky enough to reside in the inner west.
The Courty has Trivia on Thursday night, The Wheel of Pourtune on a Wednesday, Tuesday badge draws, happy hour Monday to Friday 4 - 6pm and everyday the “Courty Can O Nachos” - bloody unique and a must try 🌽
A bit of trivia - the first Young Henry’s Newtowner was poured at the Courty back in 2012 🍺
3. You wont be feeling lazy when you get jazzed up 🎷
Ok so there is jazz some nights at the Lazybones Lounge Restaurant & Bar and a huge array of other music throughout the month including pop, indie pop, R&B, soul dub beats, reggae-pop, afro fusion and the list goes on.
The Lazybones has a big following of happy bopper rating it a 4.6 on Google. Christopher sums it up “… this place is really cool. If you're looking for something funky, different, high quality but not pretentious, check it out. Has a very authentic jazz lounge feel to it. Went for the love music on Tuesday night. Got entry and dinner for about $40pp(?) Food was good. Drinks were reasonably priced (for Sydney 🙄)…”

5. After Christmas - 18 countries will compete, you cannot miss it 🎾
