What a week and it’s not over yet 😄
I hope you have had a good week so far. We may have passed hump day but still have a couple more work days before clocking off on Friday.
If you have been offline or sleeping under a rock you may not have noticed but America went to the poles. The big battle for el Presidente between Trump and Harris, a true battle of the opposites, played out and has down to the red corner with a return of the big fella.
Closer to home I have some adventures for you to consider for the coming weekend.
1. A neighbourhood trattoria in Surry Hills, just a hop skip and jump from Central Station
I found Pellegrino 2000 back in 2022 and have dined there three times before Taylor (yes the Swift one) lobbed in for a feed back in February this year.
Before Taylor Swift visited, Pellegrino 2000 had already hit the top of the pops when it won the delicious100 for 2022.
The dining at the bar, outside seating and the underground seating provides Pellegrino 2000 with what feels like a cross between an old town Roman trattoria and a hip Surry Hills “dine to be seen” inner-eastern suburb restaurant.
The menu is rich with unique spins on well know Italian dishes. Check out the menu published on their website.
The Google reviewers drop an average 4.5 stars, which confirms Mick’s views of this cool establishment.
Bookings essential - 02 8593 0114 or via the website
2. More top-shelf whiskies 🥃 and cocktails 🍸️ hidden down a lane off Clarence Street
If you haven’t been in to The Baxter Inn you gotta get in.
You can find a nondescript door for The Baxter across the lane from the entrance to The Duke of Clarence Hotel, featured in this weeks Monday newsletter.
The Baxter Inn is part of the Swillhouse group who describe the experience of visiting this hidden gem “… When you come down the stairs, and step through the door, you’ll see straight away that we like whisky here …. we can tell you exactly how many bottles from the Highland, the Lowland, Speyside and the islands we’ve got lined up behind the bar: a lot…”
Trading hours are 4pm to 3am. Drop in, you will be amazed by the ambience.
3. How about a FreekIn Weekend this Saturday and Sunday @ The Factory Theatre 🎭️
Free music this Saturday AND Sunday @ The Factory Theatre, Marrickville
Saturday 9th November - “Children of Hardcore” - Rave Classics - High NRG 90’s Hardcore - Midday until 7pm

4. Love basketball? Want to see it live this weekend?
Our beloved Sydney Kings are playing South East Melbourne Phoenix Friday 8th November.
The game is at the Qudos Bank Arena, Sydney Olympic Park and the action kicks off at 7:15pm
Tickets for adults start at $28 (kids from $18) and can be purchased through Ticketek - see this LINK
The Kings website is packed with heaps of new and information on the players and merch - SYDNEY KINGS
5. Time to get outdoors and get some fresh air - Royal Botanic gardens and Domain Loop Walk 🚶
Starting at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, enter and loop the gardens to Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, then past the Art Gallery, to the New South Wales library, and back to finish the loop.
Stop at the Government House and also the Library and Art Gallery.
Great views of the harbour and city on this 3.7 kilometre walk.
If you want some assistance with the route, check out Alltrails.com
All the best for the weekend.
Cheers and beers,
Mick
