Your Monday Scoop: Where to Sip, Snack, and Stroll in Sydney

Well the scoop for today should be a scoop or two of ice-cream 🍦 The week has kicked off to a top of 35 degrees and in the sun you need a way to keep cool 😎

As always there is plenty to get into for this week. Lots to sip, snack and get around Sydney. No boredom here.

1. A factory of coffee ☕️ … what grounds would they have for that?

The Grounds Coffee Factory at Eveleigh is brought to us by the genius behind The Grounds of The City and Alexandria.

Located on Locomotive Street, South Eveleigh the Coffee Factory has a real railway feel. Open Monday to Saturday from 7/7.30am and closing around 4pm it caters to the local businesses and residents nearby for breakfast, brunch and lunch.

With a Google 4 star rating it is a solid performer worth your visit to enjoy this unique experience on the door step of Sydney.

2. No hives here but plenty of cocktails and food to pair 😃

The Hive Bar: Seasonal eats 🥕, vinyl and cocktails 🍸️ I couldn’t say it any better.

With a cracking 4.6 star 🤩 rating with great cocktails like the amaretto sour plus a range of beers and cider on rotation.

Entertainment is too including; comedy, jazz on vinyl, Sunday DJs and the Queen Bee DJs on the last Friday or every month.

Available for functions; upstairs for a private function of up to 35 or downstairs in the main bar with the other guests.

Trading hours vary from Tuesday through Sunday, check the website for details before you venture out.

3. How low can you go ? Apparently 302

Live entertainment and DJs from Wednesday through Saturday evening, open until 2am Low 302 is a must visit on Crown Street, Surry Hills.

Thursday is Cabaret Night with a rotating roster of performance, theatre, dance, cabaret, comedy and much more.

Friday and Saturday are when DJs start the night off with a mix of contemporary and old-school funk, soul and hip-hop, but depending on the vibe, the night could go anywhere.

Special live performances each month like “Red Light Confidential” is a cabaret and burlesque show on Thursday 19 December, tickets starting at $45 for general admission of $55 for the Splash Zone VIP tickets.

4. A lunchtime stroll - Darling Harbour to Jones Bay Wharf 🚶‍♀️

Get your steps in on the Darling Harbour to Jones Bay Wharf walk. It is approximately one kilometre in each direction and you will rack up around 30% of your 10,000 daily steps.

Starting at The Pyrmont Bridge Hotel, walk North along Murray Street which joins Pirrama Road. Turn right at Bayview Street, where you will find Doltone House, and walk to the end of the pier. Turnaround and back track to the start at the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel. All us a leisurely 30 minute walk during your lunch break or outside of work hours.

5. At the heart of this eatery is Italian grain 🍝

The sandstone and exposed brick turn this fab restaurant, Grana, into one of Sydney’s best kept secrets. Tucked away on the ground floor at 5-7 Young Street, Sydney it specialises in breads, pastries, pasta and seafood.

The menu covers a huge range from spanner crab, oysters, salmon crudo, tuna tartare, king prawns, barramundi, chicken, pork, lamb and beef … it has something for almost everyone. For group books there are two shared menus starting at $99 per person 😋

With 4.6 star Google ratings and 19,000 followers on Instagram it is probably not really the best kept secret in Sydney 😃

Thanks for reading!

Cheers and beers,
